I seriously cannot find the egr valve. I am no big time car mechanic. I do everything by the book. The egr valve on an 04 silverado 1500 5.3L is supposed to be on the front of the motor bolted to the head right by the oil fill tube and water pump. Mine is not there and I guess I just dont know what i am looking for. Someone help............pics would be nice to.

thanks mudmaniac. I think i should be clearer. I do know what it looks like i just cannot locate it under my hood. If someone has an 04 silverado and could take a pic of the engine compartment with the egr in it that would help. sorry for the confusion.

You need to read the emission label under the hood. There is a small area that has the initials of the emissions equipment ( TWC, EGR, HO2 and some others) If I does not say EGR you do not have one and that is why you can not find it.
