So i'v got a 95 chevy chyenne K1500 with a 5.0 and this damn motor keeps missin. it's just been put in and it came from a 92 caprice. i think it might b the egr valve, but im not positive...i think the way to test it is to disconnect the vacume line and wait for the truck to die...but it wont stall.
does that indicate a faulty egr valve?
any help is appreciated

 

Your method is backwards, when you apply vacuum, thats when the engine should stall. you can try to remove the egr valve and check to see if its carbon'd up and stuck open.
