Electric winches
Any suggestions on an electric winch? im on a low budget, so it cant be to pricy. But i do want it to last and have alot of strength. im not worried about speed though. any suggestions?.
i would go with warn some of the different supplyers have some good deal's byt you need to nail down excatly what you want, what you will settle for ,with how much money you can spend .if you look around you can picksome oh the stuff up on amazon or used .
Warren pretty much has the best winches, but price is a factor of speed and power. You can find cheaper winches but they will be slower. The real trick is to figure out how much power you really need. On the other hand you can make a low power winch pick up bigger loads by simple doubling the line, ever time you double the line you double the power. You need two pulleys every time you double the line, these will be some expensive pulleys since they need to come apart to put the line in them and be able to handle the load. Of course this means you need more line on your winch. So now you need to think of more expensive kevlar line that is smaller but the same strength. See where I'm going here? You get what you pay for!
i have access to good cables, and good pulleys at a cheap price. i work for a boat lift company and get discounted prices. our equipment lifts 20,000lb+ boats. so the cable and pulleys will be plent to pull a cehicle out of a ditch or mud. thats really the only purpose i would have for the winch. so i would be happy buying an unloaded winch for a cheap preice.
and doubling the cable halfs the speed. just for anybody that didnt know. and as i said, im not concerned with speed
