Default electrical question

I have 2 floodlights that have magnetic bottoms on them that i would like to use off road and for hunting setup. both of them are wired with a regular 3 prong plug ( a basic house outlet) and i cant run them off my power inverter. Is there a way i can wire an extension cord to my battery into the cab of my truck so i can plug the lights in that way? thoughts? suggestions?

thanks

Welcome to the forum...

I'm a bit confused by your statements...
so the lights ARE 120VAC but you can't run them off of your inverter ?
What kind of extension cord are you wanting to run from the battery 12VDC or 120VAC....

Its best to only run 12VDC to the inverter and use the 120VAC as a point of use... you really don't want to have 120VAC lines running through your vehicle, its a certain recipe for disaster...
A short to the frame or body could fry your electronics or possibly be a potential for electrocution...not to mention RF interference...

I would invest in another inverter to use in the cig lighter outlet... or consider 12VDC flood lights
