Default Engine Dies at Idle while turning..

Hi guys, I'm new to the Forum, and I have a problem I was hoping someone could help me out with.

I have a '01 Silverado 5.3 Auto, and when I'm at idle or near idle and turn my wheels, It'll die on me. It happens the most when I'm turning into my Garage but has happened other times. It's not everytime, but enough to aggravate me. It's very frustrating!

Any help, suggestions, or Ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

Hey spike44,

I have a silv. 01 6.0, it had the same problem, the first thing you should try is getting some throttle body/ carb cleaner spray and take the throttle body off and clean it out, it gets really gummed up in there. That helped mine. Hope that works for you.

I have a similar problem. Wife's Silverado (01, 4.8L, V8) dies on hard right turns into parking spaces. I have already cleaned the MAF and Throttle Body Intake, new: IAC, PCV, Fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, fuel filter, alternator, plugs and wires. Air filter is ok. OBD codes say P0171 and P0174, and P0300. System runs too lean, random misfire codes. What could this be? SES light is on, Planning on installing new brake pads/rotors and master cylinder (leaking) this week. Ideas to trouble shoot? O2 sensors? ABS light on occasionally, may be caused by air in lines (spongy from Master leak) or could it be the ABS sensor on the right wheel -too much torque on turning? I don't know. getting stumped... I need a fresh perspective.
