Sounds logical, what did the dealer charge you?

The crankshaft position sensor relearn goes hand in hand with the repgramming of the PCM.

Congrats on fixing it though. I know for some it's tough to let other work on your vehicle but sometimes you just have to throw in the towel cause it's cheaper in the end and less headache for you.

Brought the truck into the dealer and what they found was the PCM module needed to be reprogrammed and the crankshaft speed sensor needed to be relearned.

I am wondering if the Superchip programmer may have had something to do with this any ideas?
Ya think ?? You didn't mention that you used a Superchip programmer[:-]

The total cost wasn't that bad it came to $262 after the mechanic put $20 in for gas. I left it a little low.

Doesn't your Superchips programmer store the factory program? If so why didn't you just re flash with the stored factory program. Seems like this probably would have saved you some time and money.

Anyway... glad you got it resolved.

Default misfire / tcc unlocking no hard code set

Man , I've got the same issues with my '01 2500hd 6.0l . Done all the things that you have and maybe more. A ride with a scanner showed a "soft" po300 but it never set the MIL. Did yours set the MIL? Mine is misfiring #5 cylinder like crazy and #8 some. As soon as the misfire occurs the ECM commands the torque converter to unlock. It will eventually lock back up but unlocks again.
So the dealer reprogrammed your ECM? What did they gouge you for that? Just want to be prepared if I need to go there too.

Thanks.

Did the dealer know right away about the ECM needing the reprograming? I have a truck that is doing the same thing that yours was and have done a lot to rectify the problem but nothing has worked. I had a scanner along for a test ride and found out #5 and #8 cylinders were misfiring but don't know why. Lots of new parts no fixes.
Did your have the check engine light on. Mine does not set a hard code , but the scanner showed the PO300.
What did they charge to do the update? I'd like to be prepared for the sticker shock.

Thanks.
