Engine not right since accident
Hello everyone...
Well some SOB hit my truck 2 months prior. 98 C2500 5.7 Vortec.. ext cab. They hit it in the left front cause 1600 dollars in damage. Ever since then the Idle is a little rougher, my gas mileage has gone down, where a tank would last me 2 weeks to and from work, is now almost a Week and a half. I have done the basic's, tune up with wires, fuel filters, Always had the Spectra filter, there are NO codes and no check engine light....
Any idea's / comments???
Help.....

Have you checked for damaged wires and vacuume hoses that may have been hit in the accident? It may be possible in an accident to damage the engine mounts as well causing the engine and transmission not to line up correctly. Front end alignment is also a killer for fuel economy and a normal casualty of front end collisions.
@ Mattlmw... Thanks, the left bumper horn,{frame} was bent and I was told the remaining of the frame was true straight... so I have to take there word for it after they straightened the frame. I did not see and damaged wires or hoses, but I will get a can of carb cleaner and spray away to check. I wonder if the hit did something to the ECM.? I to the point of taking to Chevy just for a Diagnosis on the machine... Ugh..
I totally understand the dealer, I try to avoid them at all costs too. Just took my truck to one here and for two days they diagnosed my idle issues only to tell me they could not find anything wrong. Hell of a way to blow a lot of money for nothing. Hopefully you will have better luck than I did. It may be worth a look at a local parts store first to see if they can hook yours up to a computer and do a quick check as it is usually free and may save yo a lot. Best of luck.
