engine operating temp...
97 silverado, 5.7 Vortec, 2500HD
my temp needle never reaches 180/200 degrees. I replaced the T-stat and temp stays the same, it never has overheated nor showed signs of running hot.... so my question is what is the normal temp with no load, and if my gage is correct and never reading more than,,, well the needle is at 1/3rd if you pictured the temp gauge as a gas gauge... 210 is dead center and it not even close to there.... So if the temp is running that cool, and the cpu is making it run a little more lean what can i do to warm it up...???

Too be honest i dont recall.... i went to parts store and asked for a t stat for that model and year....my fault... i will pull it and double check.. waas not sure if that model called for more than one type
@Country_09...... ok, thanks... that is exactly where mine is. I just wondered if that was too cool and maybe could cause less fuel mileage, ecu thinking engine is running cold and running it rich. but again it runs great, exhaust is clear 100% and no strong odors of raw fuel.. but again it is a 2500 so i know mileage is just a dirty word here...LOL...
