Default engine swap

hi my mother just gave me her 1997 chevrolet extended cab pickup with a V6. it has 150,000 miles but i dont want a V6.. the transmission was replaced with a factory remanufactured and it has about 20,000 miles on it. the transmission i know is a 4L60E transmission. i want to swap a 350 in there but what would it take in order to pull this job off? will the transmission bolt directly to the 350 engine? what types of changes would i have to make in the engine bay. i just got my tax refund check so i have about 2500 to spend so any suggestions would be great. thanks

stevie

that tranny is supposed to match to 305 and 350 blocks. umm, you shouldnt have fuel line problems since the 6 is a gas the mount is the only thing i see as an issue i know a few trucks locally that went to the diesel engines or to gas from diesel and they didnt have much work aside from fuel lines

the v 6 in your truck now is mostly a 350 with 2 cylenders cut off the front. eavery thing from the six will bolt directly to the v 8 all the drive pullys alt. powerstering pump are all the same so if you find a good running v8 it will mbolt right up you will have to get new rad hoses and a fan shroud from a v 8 truck to fit in yours.
