Default Engine swap please help

I have a 1975 Chevy c10 pickup with a 350 it is automatic and is only 2 wheel drive it recently throw a rod I am now debating on what to do with the engine I have found a 454 with about 450hp for sale near my home so my question is how hard will it be to swap it to a 454 or would the smart thing be to just stick with a 350 I need it for everyday driving but also would like to be able to take it out to the strip every once in a while thanks hope for help

with a 454, u will need all the pulleys that come with it, the front springs should be changed or your truck will bounce all over the place, other than that it is almost like putting another small block in, trans bolts up the same and all that

Wait, the trans will mount up if the original was a TH400. If he has a TH350 it wont bolt up to a 454.

If you have a 3" drop then replace the springs.
And I dont think the fan shroud will fit with the 454 in it, so you ll have to move to a flex fan no clutch.
