Default exhaust question

ok i hae 2 questions about the exhaust

1. whats stock piping size on a 99 silverado classic 2500 with the 6.0

2. my truck stock runs dual pipes to the muffler then a single out(what ever sence that makes) im thinking about upgrading in the near future but kind tight on money so i was thinking of runing a y pipe to a single muffler and then dump it at the muffler do i have to worry about any power problems if i do this and would it sound nice

thnx in advance

stock piping is either 2.5 or 3 inch. im not sure why you have dual pipes either but needless to say you have true duals. what you could do is keep the duals. get a dual in dual out muffler and still dump it. it should sound different and depending on what muffler you get, it will be louder than stock. most people get the super 44, or 40 series. but it depends on your loudness preference.

Keep the duals. Dual exhausts offer more mid-range power while single offers more top end power.
Stock pipe size should be 2.5", make it 3" and you will get a louder exhaust.
And also as stated, get a dual in dual out muffler, not sure what you mean by "dump it", getting rid of 1
Of the outputs making it a 2 into 1 maybe? But iiwy I would stick to 2 into 2.

when i say dump i mean put turndown pipes at the muffler
the only reason i mentioned the y-pipe into a single muffler is cause im kinda tight on money i would love to put a x pipe with 2 mufflers but i dont have the money for that i kno im goin to get a super 40 muffler but every were i look it only come in single in and not dual in
