Just bought, and don't even have home yet, a '04 2500 HD 4x4 with 228,000 KM's. Yep I'm Canadian. Have had many Chevsbut never one with this many miles. Have friends with lots of them up in the 350,000 KM range so mine doesn't scare me at all. This will be used for chore truck, pulling trailers and packing a quad once in a while. Probably see 10,000 kms a year at most. Question is: Needs exhaust work. Cats arerough so do I replace or eliminate? Does engine throw a CEL if eliminated?Are there o2 sensors behind cats?What about mufflers? Has anyone replaced with more of a high-flo with any positive results? Any help or opinions on any of the above questions would be greatly appreciated.
