Default Exhaust/tuning advice

I have a couple questions. First a bit about my truck. 2007 GMC Sierra SLT 6.0 Vortec Max. Right now for exhaust it's got no muffler to dual tips(stock cats). It's just not loud enough for me. So my first question, can I remove the cats without causing any performance /mechanical issues? And if not, will a tune remedy the possible issues? Thanks in advance.

Louder isn't always better. With that bein said, if you remove the cats with no tune then yes a CEL will come on and cause it to run a lil funny. And yes a tune will remedy that problem

Thanks country 09.. so if I remove them and don't get a tune.. could it actually cause damage? Does blackbear do tunes like that?
