Default Faint Noise

Hey guys, I have a 2006 silverado and when i have the back window open i can hear a faint humming like noise... its real hard to hear sometimes with the windows up, but with the back sliding window open its much easier to hear. If i let off the accel pedal, then it goes away, but when im on the accel pedal it comes back... My 4X4 guy said might be the gears whining alittle but they shouldnt be stressed, he also didnt actually ride and hear it, but just from what was described thats what he thought. Im not to sure about it being the gears cause if im going down the interstate at 80 for example, i can let completely off the gas and it goes away as normal, but when i barely touch my foot to the pedal(not giving it enough throttle to make my truck gain and the truck is still slowing down) then the noise comes back... I read somewhere else that it could be the fuel something something... but figured id ask here. I do have a lift(6inch procomp with 35's) but i still have all power and nothing outta the norm but that little whinning noise. thanks for tha help

obfirefighter22, because of the software problems, I couldn't reply to your PM. I forewarded a description of your posting problem to the tech team.

I think its the fuel pump. Fuel pumps make a whiny sound.

Cool, thanks euro(again) i guess the other people I read about else where were right. Do you think
its normal or that I should get it checked out? And if it might
be going bad, I wonder if it could be costing me some MPG performance..??
