Default Flat tire

I had a flat tire today on my 2014 Silverado. It was nearly impossible to change it. The spare was easy enough to lower. The lug nuts were not over torqued and the lug nut wrench was up to the job of loosening them. I thought the wheel blocks were a very good idea. But what's up with a jack that is too short to lift the truck off a cement driveway?

Have you tried to put some blocks of wood, metal or solid stone that is stable enough to be placed under the jack?

Thank you both for the replies. I think I've got it worked out now but I'll be carrying a 4 X 6 block of wood just in case.

Just my 2 cents, but for all the effort/dangers involved in changing it, I'd invest in a decent 12v air compressor/inflator, air that puppy up and drive it in to a tire shop or dealership.... I have no aspirations of changing out a tire on the side of the road unless its a blow out.....
