Fluid Change When?
I have an 07 Sliverado about to hit 40k. Had the trans flushed a while back but my question is when it the right time to have the rear end fluid changed?? Any info is appreciated....
Hi bsoxbito,
Welcome to the Chevy Forums.
Most manufacturers are switching to synthetic gear oil now, so you've got a fair amount of time to deal with it.
I'd say a good rule of thumb, to be safe, is every 60-75K or two years, whichever comes first.
Don't forget your front diff, and new fluid for the transfer case(separate, probably tranny fluid, check with your parts store or manual to be sure.)
