My left speaker keeps coming on and going off, I see this may be a common problem with the front drivers side door speaker. wanting to replace my 2 front door speakers, what is everyone replacing theirs with?

 

Anything beats the factory speakers. I have had a lot of success with Pioneer, Alpine, and Rockford Fosgate speakers. Do some shopping online before you buy from a store as the mark up price is crazy. Try Crutchfield.com around the fourth of July and you may get some sweet discounted prices and they also usually offer installation guides and if the speaker will fit in your truck. Best of luck!

 

Also try Ebay. They have excellent prices. Do some research first so you know you are going to buy.

 

Thanks to everyone on the forum! The front door speakers on my 2008 Silverado were cutting in-and-out and I thought it might be the radio, as both quit at the same time. I followed your suggestions to check the speakers first. Viewed a helpful YouTube video on removing the door panel. Checked the driver's speaker with ohm meter and it was bad. Was about to check the passenger's side when my wife mentioned that she thought it had been out for years. Anyway, replaced both speakers and works like a charm. Very disappointed in the quality of the factory speakers. Considering changing out the rear door speakers, as doubt they will last much longer.
