ok,I have a 1989 GMC Sierra that apparently has a broken "knuckle" in the steering column. It dies on most right hand turns. Can't find a new or rebuilt column cuz apparently it is hard to find for the 5 speed manuals. Any suggestions? Even getting the rebuild kits won't help cuz they don't includethat part.

The steering knuckles are usually sold separately. If you can't fid them anywhere, you may have to resort to a local mechanic or a junkyard to get the part for you.

should be tons in a junkyard for that truck - i just dont know exactly what is involved in replacing that part- if its a ton of work i would definately try for a new one, if its an easy switch maybe you could save a little by going used.
