Default Fuel economy!

I have a 2008 Silverado 5.3l and I'm just trying to figure out what that average fuel economy should be for this truck. I just purchased this truck about two months ago with 95,000 on it. In The past couple months I've only been averaging about 13.5 mpgs but feel like I should be getting more like 15. I drive about 60 miles a day with about 50 of that being highway. I've just replaced spark plugs and air filter. But didn't seem to make much difference. If someone could help me out with this I'd greatly appreciate it.

I have a 2004 (2wd) with the 5.3L V8 and automatic transmission. I get about 13 to 15 mpg in local driving and the best I ever got on the highway was 18.5 mpg (two trips to Michigan).

My truck has 17" wheels, 265/70 tires and a 3.73:1 axle ratio. It is like an anti-Prius. :-)

There's lots of variable when it comes to mpg in a truck. Tires, speed, where you're at, what has you use, tire pressure, gears etc

The average for all miles on my 2013 5.3L was slightly over 14 mpg. That is freeway, gravel roads, rural two lane hilly stuff, with a little bit of in town thrown in. What seems amazing, is that my 2015 2500HD is only 1 mpg down from that for it's avg for all miles. That is a 6.0L and no AFM cylinder shutdown nonsense. Heavier truck, bigger motor, hardly any mpg loss. Go figure.
