fuel pump, 93 C1500
I have a 93 C1500 that I’m pretty sure needs a new fuel pump. I pour a little gas in the carb and she starts right up. I had a buddy under the truck and while trying to start it, he hit the tank and she started right up.. Did this Twice.
My questions the local parts stores have a complete fuel pump assembly for around $200 and also just the pump for around $60.
Does anyone have experience to tell me which way I may want to go.. or avoid?
I also found a cheap complete unit on the net for $110.. Not sure about that one..
Is it easier to remove the truck bed to replace this thing?

you can replace just the pump easy enough. drop the tank, or remove the bed, really up to you. invest in a GOOD pump tho. some of the cheaper ones, and internet specials, ain't very good. this from personal experience. also, attached to the end of the pump is a strainer/filter. replace this as well. and replace the wire harnes too. you'll see why when you pull old pump. over time, the stock wires tend to melt a bit, creating a fire hazard. a new harness is cheap and available at most parts stores. buy it, use it.
