future v8 swap?
well theres never a day i dont plan on puttin the petal to the metal so im thinkin the clutch upgrade is a must with v8 power, but since were in the middle of a convo i have another question. my v6 has recently started with a problem like yesterday, i drove prolly 20 miles goin home and when i stopped i noticed a little smoke comin from under the hood and i smelled antifreeze, so i checked it out but didnt see a leak. so i looked underneath and saw dripping coming off the left bank of the motor underneath the header. is that a head gasket? the trucks temp reading was also going bazerrk it would go to 230 and i would have no heat inside?? and when it dropped back down to regular temps my heat started coming through again....what is the deal here?
when you say left, you mean drivers side? maybe head gasket. i would try to trace it all the way back to see if it's drippin from somewhere else. it almost sounds like a bad thermostat might be partly to blame.
yes the drivers side, and the thing is i allready replaced the thermostat thinking it was the problem but the problem started as the temp guage only reading about 170, and at that time i had no heat, so i replaced the thermostat and flushed the heater core and i had heat again but now its doing this. but the leak i only saw dripping from one spot and it was on the front of the block on the drivers side. im thinkin its a head gasket because they have never been replaced this motor has never been torn into
