giving up on my dodge - trying to decide ford or chevy
#11
Its all about what you prefer to have in a truck. I had an '08 Ford earlier this year that was an F-250 4X4 crew cab V10 auto and I absolutely loved that truck. It had great power, ALOT of cab room (I value this alot because I'm 6'7), towed great, 4wd worked just fine. Unfortunately I had an accident which totaled that truck so I decided to get into a Chevy.
Right now I have a 2008 Chevy 2500 HD 4X4 crew cab 6.0 6speed auto and its a good truck as well. I dont like it quite as much as my Ford just because it feels more like a nice car to me than it does a truck. Its rides REALLY nice compared to my Ford but it lacks a little in power and the cab isn't as big. The 4wd on it really pisses me off because its supposed to be a "shift-on-the-fly" kind of thing but it takes a good 10 seconds or so to get it in and out.
Before the Ford I had an '07 Dodge 2500 hemi auto and it too was a very good truck for me. The only reason I got rid of it is because it was a regular cab and it made me feel somewhat claustrophobic on trips that were very long at all. It rode kinda rough but it made good power and pulled well.
IMO if you go with newer rigs you really can't go wrong with any of the Big 3, they are made so much better than they were even 5 years ago that its unreal. Also IMO if you want to go with the diesel got with the CTD. The PSD is absolute JUNK (just got rid of one) and I know for a fact the CTD will outpull the Dmax. That being said I feel the Dmax is a good stout diesel motor but for what you have to pay to get one I'd say save yourself 4-5 thousand dollars and get a CTD.
Hope this helps.

its all preferance.. chevy is easier to work on, parts are cheaper and as an owner of a 95 silverado let me say shes been good to me! Ford is good too if you buy the super duty models.. personally I see chevy builds better more refined v8 engines and transmission, But the Ford Super Duty can do some work! You have made a wise decision doing away with the Dodge.
