Default Good deal on an 84 k10?

Hello, new to the forum. I've been in the market for a truck the past few months and stumbled on an 84 k10 recently. I took it for a test drive today and its in excellent condition, the guy is a machinist and has taken very good care of it. He is selling the truck and a camaro to raise money for a house he is building.

Less than 20,000 miles on the engine and transmission rebuild. Two year old paint job, new tires, new glass and windshield, he replaced just about everything under the hood when he rebuilt the engine. Did not see any rust except for a few spots on the hood where it rusted under the paint. Only problem is that he wants 8,500$ for it.

I'm on the fence about this truck, its about 2,000$ over what I wanted to spend but it is exactly what I have been looking for. Is the price he is asking unreasonable or is it what a comparative truck should go for?

you could also check NADA and Kelley Blue Book for a general idea on value. also, check various web sites, dealers in your area for similar trucks for sale. i agree tho, unless it's 100% rust free, straight clean and pretty, $8500 does seem a bit steep. in pacific northwest, a truck like this generally runs 4k- to 6k, tho 6k is a primo shape truck. you did mention he is throwing in a camaro. what year, condition is camaro? if camaro is actually worth something, it might not be so bad.

I wish 8500 is just for the truck. I'm in Georgia and its an auto 700R.

I'd give him 6500 at the most... And I'd have to want it bad.
