Headers in an aftermarket exhaust

RE: Headers in an aftermarket exhaust
Just put a Flowmaster 40 series on it, simple as that. Much cheaper than a whole system. And yea, the black ALWAYS burns off the header, unless you get the ceramic coated, which is twice as expensive. Also with headers you have to re-torque the bolts about as often as you change the oil, they all work loose.

the smaller the pipe is the more its going torap when you get on the gas. the bigger it is the less rapping you will have.and trust me i learned from experiance. does that truck have a 305 or 350??? and you said you do want some pictures???

Ok thanks jmack no headers lol, until i get my camaro... anyway so if i throw a 2.5 or 3" pipe then it will put out a deeper sound? and i think id like the dual system, sounds looks and performs better

i would say 2 3/4" or 3" cause i have 2 1/4" to 2 1/2" pipes and my mom said she could here me 11 city blocks away from my house. so i put glasspacks on it and now its only loud when i step on it but it also has that real deep pitch when i am casually driving. but yeah i would go big. and i sure you could go to an exhaust shop and just ask them what sizeyou should do for that pitch.

Sorry, don't have the truck I did that system on so I can't provide any pictures. If you are just putting on the cat-back it is super easy. The hardest part is getting the old exhaust bolts off. I would start a day early spraying them with PB lube to loosen up the rust and grime. Basically the system you order will go in the exact same place your stock system is, it will just be thicker pipes. I would deffinately suggest 2 1/2 or larger. I used 2 3/4 and it sounded great.
