Default Heater/AC fan speed selector problems

I've got a 2006 Silverado LT. About 4 months ago, i lost the use of number "5" speed. Just the other du, I lost the use of number "3" speed. Is that something with the switch on that panel, or is this a problem with the fan speed control module? If it is the switch/panel where can I get a replacement, and can I upgrade to the "digital" style like in the higher end trucks?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

The first thing I would look at is the blower resistor. It should be located on the air plenum under the dash.

YUP!...it is the blower motor resister. Check the harness for melted pins. There is a RECALL in Ontario for that. I had mine done.

azabrnski,

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue. Have you tried www.gmpartsdirect.com?

Thank you,
