Default heater control actuator door needs replaced

i HAVE A 2006 SILVERADO 25OO HD. Recently the heat on the passanger side is stuck on all the time. Dealer looked at it and said the heater control actuator door needs replaced. $1,000!!! No way. I know it's a labor intensive fix. Has anyone done this on thier own? If so can you advice me on how?

Much Appriciated.
