Default 2004 Malibu Maxx needs thermostat replaced

Can anybody provide service procedure/location to swap out the thermostat?

Removal Procedure


  1. Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.5L.
  2. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  3. Reposition the hose clamp from the water outlet housing.
  4. Remove the radiator inlet hose from the water outlet housing.

  5. Remove the water outlet housing bolts.

  6. Remove the water outlet housing.

  7. Remove the thermostat.
  8. Clean and inspect the water outlet housing gasket mating surfaces.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

Is the coolant drain easily accessible? I haven't crawled under the chassis to see how/where it is.
