Default heater controll speeds

my 2003 silverado with the 6.0 motor.(heater) the speeds 1-4 works and speed 5 dosnt work . ive replace the controll and it still dosnt work. im thinking its the resistor . how do you test it and where is it at.

the resistor is right next to the blower motor but if im not mistaken the speed 5 bypasses the resistor and goes througa a relay in the same area

ok i think i found the resistor and i unplug the wiring. and check the volts coming out of each wire . i was getting volts out of each wire for each speed including speed 5. so im guessing the resistor is bad if any one has more information thanks for sharing it with me

by lookin at the diagram the speed 5 has its own power supply and a relay the controls just that speed the relay is with the resistor and the fuse is under the hood according to that diagram now weather that is for that truck i dont know

The schematics is for same truck which mcruea posted.Now as per diagram onlyresistor packmust have gonebad or connector wiring of resistor packis burned/corroded or have high resistance in wires.

If you have power on the orange wire in speed #5, replace the resister. It has the relay built into it and cannot be changed
