Help!!!

Replacing factory radio with new one in a 2002 chevy 2500hd duramax 4x4 and dont kbow wth to do with extra plug or which harness i need
it has an extra plug which goes where?

I replaced a radio for a friend in a 98 Astro and left the extra plug not connected and the radio worked. Not sure what the other plug was for, but the radio still worked.
