Hi,
I've got a 98' chevy 2500 with the 5.7 350 V-8 and I want to put an engine from a 03' chevy 2500 5.3 V-8 in it's place. I've noticed a difference in the wiring/computer from old to new, as well as no distributer in the 5.3. Question is, what all can I expect to run into in doing this swap to an 03' engine? Is this simply, disconnect the old engine, drop in the new and plug the old wiring harness into the new computer?

Any explaination would be helpful.

I've rebuilt the 5.7 twice now but the 5.3 has alot more wires then I remember being on the 5.7.... if that makes any sense!
