I have a 94 C1500 pick up truck. It starts fine in the morning, and after i drive a few blocks i have to mash the gas pedal to the floor to get it to start then it hesitates and fills like i lose power for a few and then after i get going it runs fine , any suggestions

 

Carburetor or fuel injected?

I'm assuming it has a carburetor because you have to hit the gas to start it. That's also probably why it feels sluggish (like you lost power) for a little while; it's probably running a bit rich for a little while after you floored it to start it up. The only thing I can think of as far as the cause of the problem would be a fuel filter, but that doesn't explain why it doesn't hesitate to start in the morning.
