I'm contemplating purchasing a 2000 1500 4wd in excellent condition but the only thing I don't like is the puny little tires. I have come to this forumn with similar questions before and youguys have given me great help so hopefully you'll come through for me again.

My question, what size tires can I squeeze on without new wheels or a lift kit? I'd consider getting bigger wheels... I think it either has 16's or 17's. I'm a big fan of the BF All Terrains and I think the 33 12.5's might look good. I appreciate any responses I get!

 

Those will look great on there. But you might be pushing it a little if you go with 33's you may have to trim just a little bit in the front wheel wells. But other than that they would look great.

 

JMO -You might want to find out what rear axle ratio you have. If you havegears designed for the highwaydriving 33s will have an adverse effect fuel mileage, brakingand engine performance. If you have 4:10 gears or higher numerically you might be OK, and that depends on what engine you have.If you have 3:90 or lower you might want to consider a smaller tire, like265s or 285s.
