Default HELP for my truck ASAP!!!

Hello... Im brand new to this forum and Im in need of some good advice. I have a 1999 Chevrolet 2500 2w/d. The problem Im having is it runs really rough at idle and sputters when i take off from a stop. It also smells really bad and I get crappy gas mileage. I have tried removing the EGR valve to clean, change plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and waiting to do the fuel filter just as soon as I can bust it loose. Not sure what else to do to remedy it. The 2 codes that came up were P1075 and P1072. Has anyone else come across this problem? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks again...

tap the catalytic converter and see if it is solid. also see how much pressure you have going out the tailpipe to see if it is good or bad
