Default Help With Transfer Case Actuator

Hi all. I have a 2004 Silverado 2500. The dash has a 4 button 4wd. controller. Auto 4wd,2H,4H,4L. I just changed out the transfer case actuator after getting repeated "service 4wd" codes on the dash information center. Easy job but now the truck will not engage 4wd, and the transfer case neutral light stays lit. If you push any of the buttons, they blink for about 60 seconds and then revert back to a red neutral light. The transfer case is not in neutral, you can drive the truck but something is wrong. Is there something I missed? The actuator was a straight remove and replace, so I don't know what else there is. Any help would be appreciated. thanks, George

Did you clear the codes before the swap? I would do that and then the trucks computer will relearn and accept the new part. Disconnect the battery from the system for a few min's. It's worth a try IMHO.

I don't know how to clear the codes. I will try disconnecting the battery for a few as suggested. G

When you disconnect the battery it should clear the codes. If it recodes take it to Auto Zone and they will read the codes for free and tell you what needs to be done.
My bad...I should have told you this before I just assumed you knew.

Do you still have the owners manual? It details the process to turn off the red neutral light. My 2003 Silverado does it a couple of times a year for no reason. I just flip open the book and it takes about two minutes to fix. If you don't have your manual let me know and I will get mine and detail the steps!
