http://www.northernautoparts.com/Pro...ctModelId=4251 ........ i want to put this cam in to my 305 when i rebuild do you think this is a good cam or go with something else.... and on a GOOD NOTE i got my 4x4 working YAAAAYY i had no power at the actuator so i ran a toggle switch to it and it works like a champ.. my light that tells me im in 4x4 even works still... now i can stick my truck in 4low and spin my rear tires and not have the front lock in.... but about the cam yes or no??? i want to make a 335 stroker out of my 305 will this be a good cam???

Never heard of the company. Cheap price though. Really cheap. The cheapest on jegs for a 305 is like 185 or so. I don't think it would be too bad. You gonna put a 400 crank in it? Never heard of a 335. Tell me how it goes. Sounds like a great project due to the fact of the rarity of the project.

So HOW do you plan to get 335 out of a 305? Normally you bore .030-.060 over; a .030 over will give you 310.772 CI and a .060 over will give you 315.737 CI.
You would have to bore it .174 over to get about 335. I don't think you can do it without the cylinder walls being too thin, not to mention being able to find pistons for it...

hes talking about a bigger crank like a 350 with a 400 crank makes a 383 stroker but i think a 305 w/ a 400 crank would make 338 not a 335..... oh well never heard of either good luck with that!! i wouldnt skimp on a cam i would buy something you know is gonna work and not be a test rat for something important like that in your engine i would get a comp cam

Oh. I have run into this all to often... some people think they are increasing the CI by 30 by boring "30 over".
He could get really close with a 30 over bore and a 400 crank. Your bore would be 3.77 (30 over) and the stroke would be 3.75 (400 crank). That'll give you 334.883 CI (5.485 L)

what evansblue said.... its basicly a 335 its just shy of it but yes im going to put a 400 chrome- moly crank balnced for about 6000rpms that cam will give me a top rpm of 5500rpm... and then i also want to get some good flowing 327 heads and a edelbrock performer rpm intake manifold .030 bore maybe .040.... the reason that cam is only 35$ is becuase there is no lifter kit with it i have to buy the lifts and spring seprate.... after springs and lifters and the cam it will be around 140$... i was manily asking if the melling cams are any good??? or would work good for the aplication.... "335" stroker with good 327 head and .30 bore and that melling sb TORQE cam, 400 crank, edlebrock performer rpm intake mani.. and the TBI from my 1989 silverado 4x4... good or bad idea???
