Default HID issue

First off, I'm sorry if this issue has already been covered, but I'm on a phone and don't really want to search the forum for it.

I installed 8000k HIDs about a week ago, and my passenger side light keeps turning off randomly. All of the wires are connected good and none of them are exposed as far as I can tell. Its not because I'm hitting bumps or anything. My other light is fine, but its getting pretty freaking annoying when one light goes out 3 times in 5 minutes. When the light goes out, all I have to do is turn them off and right back on but it just happens again. Any info/help is greatly appreciated.

there could be something wrong with the ballast. like an internal short or something. have you tried switching sides with the bulb only, then ballast only. then both completely?

who makes the light kit? often, some ballasts ive been told have a built-in circuit saver, where if it senses low enough voltage or current it will shut off or not fire the ballast. mines doing that right now, but thats because i think my alternator voltage regulator is taking a stinky.

some ballasts have something similar to what cam said about the circuit saver. if the ballast doesnt get the required voltage to ignite the gas it will temporarily short and you'll have to wait a few minutes for it to reset itself. also a troubleshooting solution that might help is to take a cotton swab and clean all connections with rubbing alcohol.
