High mileage club!!!!!!!!!
Bought this truck back in 2018. I've had it all the way up to now 2024 granite. I have gone through 3 transmissions in this truck that were bad apples. The engine has held up incredibly well and has shown no signs of quiting.. Exhaust valves are slightly leaky that the engine is still strong
a testament to reliabilty.

unfortunately, 3 days after replacing the water pump, the engine dropped a single lifter. I could have repaired it, but the cost of repairing it was half of a replacement engine. I ended up going with a Jasper remanufactured engine. I did get this one with the DOD delete. I would have loved to have rebuilt the original engine but the logistics of the remanufactured engine were simpler and quicker. The lifter that failed was one of the dod lifters and I didn't want to deal with that again. So far I'm really happy with the Jasper engine. Initial mileage shows that I have increased my miles per gallon by 2 mi per gallon by deleting the dod. I'll have to monitor that for a while longer to confirm it.
oddly, the Friday before the lifter broke I was standing looking at the running engine with the mechanic who replaced the water pump who was just amazed that the engine ran so well at 412,000 miles.
