How bad will a tune hurt gas mileage??!!!
I have a '04 silverado, single cab stepside 2wd, w/ the 5.3.... I just put Velocity 22's on it, along with a few other things. Now i wanna kinda make it a lill quicker. I was thinking a street tune. But how much worse will it hurt my gas mileage? I haven't yet added a cold air kit, the under drive pulley kit, or the Full length headers..... "I forgot to mention i also tow a car with this truck, along with the 2500lb trailer"....Also would a programmer help at all?
Thanks
Thanks
To be quite honest, people that put 22" wheels on, and want to go faster, don't care about gas mileage. Is it going to change what you get now, absolutely. Figure 2 MPG less than what you're getting now, if not more.
But hey, you'll always pay at the pump for every piece of "bling" you put on your ride.
Just be glad you don't drive a HEMI.....

I just had www.gowheatley.com do a 93 octane tune on my 03 Denali, man its got so much power, and the mileage went down like 1-2mpg highway. He first did a tune for 87 and I didnt notice a difference at all in the mileage but a ton more power. Check him out.
I also have 22x9.5s on my truck.
