It either has 3:73's or 4:10's. I would be willing to bet on the 3:73's though just because it is a work truck

There's a sticker in the glove box with the letter designations from the last post on it. It could very possibly be 410s, because my 04 2500HD 4x4 came with them standard. But as a work truck, it may have different gears altogether. Especially if it's 2WD.

If all else fails, look at the tachometer at 65MPH:
@3000RPM---410 gears
@2500RPM---373 gears
@2000RPM---342 gears

Maybe I've just been lucky, But my 04-2500HD has always been a great truck.

what I posted is exactly what the truck was built with. The truck was built with a 4.1 ratio

shawnvw where did you find that information?? I'd like to figure that out. The only other way I knew of was to look at the codes in the glove box and look em up in a code book

Cool Big Brother (1984)

Big Brother is watching... I used to know how to break down the VIN, but this is pretty impressive spitting out all that info from the VIN! ATOSG: "It's know who you know...but who knows you"!

Success,

I have access to gm's vehicle inquiry system. Its what the service advisors, and mechanic's use to find info like the date the car was sold, any open campaigns or recalls, what the car was built with, and any warranty work that has been performed on the car

Yeah, Shawn,
I didn't know you could do that. That actually is pretty cool. What's more, I don't know how much they're asking for it, but from the options listed,that truck looks like a pretty nice deal.
