Default How to Choose the Suitable LED Bulbs for Your Vehicle?

Planning to replace your OEM halogen/incandescent bulbs? Chances are, you’ll check out some recommendations on social media first. Maybe you’ll browse forums for reviews or look up videos on YouTube for the same year, make, and model as your vehicle. But here’s something you might not have considered: trim differences can significantly affect the products you need!

It’s pretty common to find variations between trims, such as one having OEM LED bulbs and another using OEM halogen/incandescent bulbs. This is important because aftermarket LED bulbs are designed to replace OEM halogen/incandescent bulbs only.

However, even trims that both come with OEM halogen/incandescent bulbs can require different bulbs. For example, with the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the front turn signal bulbs vary depending on the trim:

The WT, LT, RST, and High Country trims use T3-7443A LED bulbs for the front turn signals.
The Custom and Custom Trail Boss trims, on the other hand, require T3-7443A-CK LED bulbs.
In this case, the difference lies in the Non-CK and CK versions of the front turn signal bulbs.

But trim differences aren’t the only factor. Even the design of specific parts, like fog lamps, can make a big difference. Take the 2016-2018 Ram 1500, for example. Its fog light bulb size changes depending on whether it has vertical or horizontal fog lamps:

Ram 1500s with vertical fog lamps use a 9006 fog light bulb.
Ram 1500s with horizontal fog lamps need an H10 fog light bulb.
So, even for the same year, make, and model, the fog light bulbs may be different.

To make sure you get the right fit for your vehicle, we recommend using the YMM search tool on Lasfit’s website to find bulbs that match your vehicle. You can also reach out to us directly through our “Speak to Us” feature on the website, and we’ll help you find the suitable bulbs.

If you’re planning to replace your OEM halogen/incandescent bulbs soon, feel free to drop your YMM and trim details in the comments below, and we’ll help you find the right LED bulbs for your vehicle!
