Hello,

I just picked up a new to me 2004 chevy ext cab and I have been searching google and this site and short of ripping apart the center of my seat I am wondering if there is a way to know for sure if I have the BOSE amp and sub. I do not notice any bass, but before adding something I thought I would ask to make sure maybe there is a problem with it or something along those lines.

I had the dealer run my VIN and two Codes seem to me like I might but it is just possible an upgraded speaker package and not the amp and sub.

Here are the codes
UB1 - AM/FM STEREO W/CD, CASSETTE and BOSE SPEAKER SYSTEM
UQ3 - ENHANCE AUDIO SPEAKERS

type your vin number in here on this site and it should tell you.
Also you could take a door pannel off and see if it says "bose" on the
speaker itself.

 

Thanks for the response, From what I could tell is that website told me the same as the codes I have above...

You say check the speaker themseleves so if they BOSE, which I assume they will based on the codes does that mean it will have the amp and sub, or did they manufacter trucks that had these codes without the sub and amp? I am thinking there is really only 1 way to find out and that would be to pull the center console.

 

Honestly I am not aware of what the newer trucks can come with.
I will let someone else chime in to see if they know, or you could call a dealer and
just ask what is included in the package.
