Default How do you determine which brand was OEM?

Sorry for the simple question, but how do you determine which brand was used as the OEM part? Specifically, I am looking to replace my fuel pressure regulator on my 2000 Silverado, 4.8L, Automatic with the OEM part.

When looking at various online parts stores (even ones that state genuine OEM parts), about half a dozen brands (AC Delco, Delphi, etc) come up as fitting the vehicle.

Any help would help be appreciated.

Since the OEM worked for the first 11 years, I was hoping to replace it with that. Additionally, I will be confident that it will be a exact fit and I will not have to 'retro-fit' anything.

Well that makes some sense, but some replacement parts are better than OEM. An example is Chevy transmissions have plastic sleeves that wear out, but if you go to transmission shop you can get them replaced with metal sleeves that hold up better.

Thank you for the reponses. I definately agree that there are aftermarket products available that are more sturdy and last longer than the OEM (as I have learned rebuilding motorcycles), but I was not sure if the installation of an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator would be troublesome for me

I did end up purchasing the AC Delco brand and although it has not been installed yet, it visually looks like an exact fit!
