Cool How easy would it be...

Hey Guyz,
My steering column took a dive, the rod connection from the key to the ignition switch broke.

My question is how easy would it be to hook up a push button switch for the ignition to start the truck ?

Any ideas on how to do this until I can get my column rebuilt / replaced ?

Im sure you could do it but it depends on the year of the vehicle as the key may need to be inserted to activate the vehicle prior to starting

The key is needed for the passlock system. It would be alot more trouble then it is worth for a temporary thing. Also is not done correctly could be a fire hazard.

What year is the truck in question? If it is one of them listed on your post then your column is really simple to repair!!! Let me know.

Hey man if you can pull the steering wheel you can fix this column!! I mean if you have the actual knowledge of removing the steering wheel. Once the wheel and tension spring plate are removed pull the horn cam put aside. (this would be the time to replace that if it doesn't work) Remove the little black screw from the turn signal cam and set aside. Now here you have one of two options. *** you know what you should call me and let me walk you through this*** PM me if your interested!
