How tight should nut be on new pinion yoke?
I know you are supposed to mark everything when using the same parts but what are you supposed to do when you replace the yoke ?I dI'd
I did count and mark the treads on the shaft but will that be good enough ?
Sorry about the spelling and stuff , my phone won't delete for some reason now

I guess put the same mark on the yoke.
What he means by rolling torque, is that with one of those needle torque wrenches, you'll be able to move the rear gears consistently when 8-10ft lbs is applied.
I've watched 2 videos on yoke replacement on youtube. Those didn't do anything, just made sure stuff lined up.
This is what I was talking about with the crush collar sleeve. It's inside, so shouldn't affect you. They show rotating torque being achieved, but that is before the yoke (2/3's the way into the video).

Just line it up I guess:

Looks like the only reason for the yoke 'being aligned' is you won't won't need to fidget a lot to turn the driveshaft or gears to get it back in a alignment, and everything can be where it is has been for 200,000 miles.
Well, I'm no expert, but don't see any other obvious stuff going on here. And nothing was made mentioning it on those videos.
I put a new gear set in mine, and a new driveshaft, and I don't remember marking anything on my f-body.

not foot lbs...inch pounds. When the crush sleeve isn't replaced you are supposed to retorque the new nut adding 3-5inlbs to the rolling torque you measured before you took it apart. This can only be done once...if needed to remove again a new crush sleeve is supposed to be used. that said, there are a lot of ways to skin a cat and a lot of good driveline rebuilders use different methods. the hard part is buying the $400 snap-on dial indicator torque wrench
