i need some help with adding boost.
1993 chevrolet c1500 with a 5.7L 350tbi with jus heddmans with full header back 3in exhaust with 2 magnaflows. the motor is pretty much stock. im thinkin bout addin a procharger P-1SC or P600B with 8-9psi. if someone can tell me will the motor beable to withstand that much boost on stock internals and stock bottom end? or will i need 2 build it up first before adding a supercharger to it? if anyone can tell me i would be gladly appreicated.

First off, I would go with a turbocharger, not a supercharger.
Though minuscule, a supercharger puts wear on the engine.
Another thing you could do is install a big bore kit and put larger throttle bodies on it.
A turbine can also help you get better gas mileage.
It atomizes the air going into the chamber so when the air mixes with
The fuel there is not as much unburned gas thus giving you more efficient
Fuel consumption and better gas mileage.
However if you have a lead foot and are always flooring the gas pedal,
You can actually get worse gas mileage is the turbine is always engaged.
In addition, I would also install a cold air intake with the longer 10" filter.
Also I would upgrade your spark plugs too. Champion and AC Delco work best with GM's.
I prefer champion plugs. Stock plug for your truck I THINK is 7018, find out what the upgrade to that is.
If you are gonna be messin with the engine, you could also put in throttle body spacers.
I don't personally know anybody with T/B spacers to be able to tell you whether they
Are a good investment or not, but worth a try.

ok now i have thought about that. but the only thing is im not a real big fan of automatic turboed motors. plus im thinkin about changing over to carb anyways. but you do have point that turbo would b better since its ran off exhaust unlike superchargers are belt driven. im thinkin about gettin a k&n cold air intake to put on it. i did change the spark plugs but i put in bosch platinum2s in it. i would change them put with the headers they are a pain to change the plugs. i want to put a new cam witha lopey idle, another set of heads, and intake n carb. and possibly go with a msd hei distributer. at least thats what i was told to go with by a couple buddies of mine.

Ya those are some good ideas.
Other than a quickshift kit and a cold air intake, I have no other engine mods on mine.
Oh, a quickshift kit is another thing you could put on for a little more umph.
