Default Intermittant voltage fluctuation 13v - 15.4v

I've got a 2007 Silverado 1500 6 Ltr 4x4. On a recent trip, the voltage dropped to 13 volts. I stopped at a parts store and they checked the battery & alternator... both failed. The next day, after replacing the battery and alternator, the charge voltage was 15.2 and settled at 14.8 after 3-4 minutes. With all the lights, radio & heater on the voltage was 14.58.

3 hrs. later, as I drove to town to return the cores, the voltage dropped to 13v again. Afterwards, when I started the truck, the voltage was 15.4v. It's done this 4 times in 3 days. I'm sure the new parts are good, but are there some relays, fuses, cables or ??? I should check?

I would have considered this normal fluctuations based on energy draw and battery charge

Your vehicle starts and runs and nothing bad has happened.

What's the problem again?

Have you always been checking voltage or just recently?

How is your ground? How are the connections to the battery? Are you using a battery tender consistently?

And are you in the freezing northeast or warm south?

Sledge, I've owned this truck for 7 months & this is the first time that it's happened. I'm always checking the gauges as I drive. The voltage stayed at 13v for @ 200 miles. After replacement it started fluctuating and that's what got me unnerved. Connections, cables & ground are clean and tight. I live near Lake Superior in Upper Michigan... yea it's freaking cold up here.

Thanks Sledge, good read. I wish GM would keep things simple.
