Filter vs Lift
The lift has nothing to do with the intake filter kit from K&N or any other type of filter. My 1999 Silverado 1550 4x4 w/ 5.3l has a 3" lift w/ K&N Filter. My 2001 1500 4x4 has the same but different lift, so again the lift has nothing to do with the filter. Buy it Amazon has it for around $220

Thanks for the reply that’s great just double checking I am talking about the cold air kit not just a filter but if you paid 220.00 for it that sounds right. K&N disclaimer says it wont work with a body lift because the mounting try for the stock air box is were you need to mount the K&N heat shield that holds the end of the pipe with filter and map censer and with the body lifted the K&N pipe will be to short and will not work. Did you have this issue and if so how did you get around it. Just looking for some reassurance that its going to fit nice before I drop 220.00
THANKS

Mine are not body lifts so maybe K&N is correct in there design. But it is a simple mod if you need to move the factory air box mount. Good luck and if you do you will like th HP gain with all the noise.

For 220 you're lookin at about 8hp with the k&n cold air intake. For 130 you can get about 10 hp with the airaid MIT tube with stock box and spectre drop in filter from autozone or oriellys. You do the math.
