The key FOB for my 2008 Silverado stopped working. I tested the battery and it shows 3.02 volts. My 2nd FOB,, which is seldom used, also will not work the doors, ignition or panic alarm. The door lock, on the arm rest will lock the doors and set the alarm, the alarm will sound, if the door is opened. Any ideas? Is there a separate fuse for the receiver? Where is the receiver?

 

Sounds like the FOB's need to be reprogramed to the truck. Not sure but you may have to take truck to a stealer or a shop with a Tech2. Earlier trucks you could program them yourself. Scan the net for ways to progam your truck first before going to a stealer.

 

Could be that the clamp to hold down the battery has broken off. Often seen with the chevy FOBs. A quick solder and your back in business.

 

Thanks for the replies. I do believe it's the unit with-in the vehicle that is the problem. The day this began it had been raining, it had rained quite a bit. The tire monitor system messaged it needed to be serviced. A day or so later, after it had stopped raining and things dried out all started to work again, no problem.
A week or so later, it rained again, this time I was driving in it. I parked my truck and went to lock it, using the FOB... nothing. I got back in, started the truck and was again given the message that the tire monitoring system needed to be serviced. After everything dried all began working as it should.
