I've followed all the steps listed to reprogram my key FOBs for my 2005 Chevy 2500HD:

- key in
- hold door unlock
- key off/on off/on
- release door unlock (Supposed to lock cycle after release *mine cycles while holding)
- hold 2 FOB buttons (lock/unlock)

Problem is above, the locks cycle prior to me releasing the door unlock button on the door and it won't program the key fobs. Turn key to "on" and I get two horn beeps.

Any tips would be appreciated! Everything I've read says it's a problem if the locks cycle BEFORE release of the door unlock button.

Thoughts?

 

Any updates on this? I also have a 2005 and am having the same issue.

 

Mine was a defective key fob too. Disconnected battery and tried again with new fob and it worked.
