Smile Keyless entry question

I just bought a 2008 Silverado LS with keyless entry, and am wondering if it also has theft protection? (You know, that annoying horn-honking, lights-flashing thing that other guys' trucks do. ) I can get in and out of the truck with the regular key. There doesn't seem to be an alarm delay like on some vehicles. Maybe no theft protection? Maybe I need to buy a pitbull and/or a S&W?

New to the forum, so hope this newbie question is in the right place!

try rolling your window get out and lock with your remote. reach through the window and unlock it manually. Open the door. If the alarm goes off, you have one. Put the key in the ignition and turn to the run position to shut off alarm.

Thanks, that answered my question. No alarm. Guess I might as well leave the truck unlocked; at least that way I won't be paying for a broken window.
